Go Tigers

Win and I have been trying to root the Tigers into a world series victory. It's not going too well so far.

Win loves to climb. If he can grab it he will climb it.

The Process of Standing

Win's calling card was on the couch and he had to rescue it.

Handheld Toys

Win carries a small toy with him at all times when he is crawling around the house. He has a calling card, a small wooden ball and a scrap of green felt that we call his leaf. When he can't find one of these he removes a sock and crawls with it. He took his calling card to his doctor appointment today.

Toy Box

We store all of Win's toys in the bottom of his exersaucer. When we set him on the floor he crawls into the exersaucer and picks out a toy or two. Lately his favorite has been an old calling card.

Tiles and Tribulations

Denise's sister, Erin, and her husband, Cody, were in Holland for the weekend. They are in law school at Notre Dame and come up regularly to visit their sister. Win helped them play Scrabble. He took half of the credit when Erin scored 72 points on one word (it was a bingo). After watching a documentary about competitive Scrabble our house has been playing a lot of Scrabble.

Snoozing

Win likes to sleep with his bottom sticking up in the air and his hands tucked under him. Here he is napping.

Welcome to Michigan

Yep, that's snow. Win and I woke up to a light dusting of snow on the ground. It has been snowing most of the morning. Anything can happen in Michigan.

Playing

Win played in the grass a bit today. It is getting colder and there won't be that many days for grass-play left.

California

Win and I dropped Jared off at the airport yesterday for a week long Vineyard missions conference. We get to pick him up again on Friday. Benjamin Tennant(Win's namesake) is there too, and Jared and Ben get to spend a decent amount of time together. We miss Daddy so much.

Stuck Again

Win's crawling skills get him into many interesting situations.

Corners

Win loves to check out all of the corners of our house. He crawls behind the sofa looking for frayed bits of carpet. He crawls between the recliner and the stand until his body is on top of the cold air return and then he slaps it. He really likes the cold air return. Slapping is the highest expression of affection. He tries to crawl behind the toilet, but, well, that is really gross. The bathroom door stays closed all of the time now. Here is a cute shot of him returning from a trip behind the hope chest. That corner is usually good for some frayed bits of carpet (which he can spot from 10 feet away) and a couple of cobwebs. I used to think that I keep our house decently clean. Win makes it his daily goal to prove otherwise.

New Tricks Everyday

This afternoon I went to get the camera because Win was being especially cute. When I returned to the kitchen this is what I found. Our Winsome now stands.

Chomper

Here he is, in his natural habitat, chomping. Feeding him can be quite funny these days. He likes to bite the spoon as hard as he can with his two teeth, or lean over and bite his bib. He can be pretty ferocious.
