Trip to BH

Here are a few shots of our weekend trip to BH this memorial day. We traveled there to catch Erin Galloway's wedding, and managed to squeeze in some time lounging around the pool and hanging out with Jan and Bruce. Win got to know his paternal grandparents a little better, and learned that a Bumbo seat makes a great boat.

Swimming

Here's the little champ 'swimming' at Grandpa and Grandma's this weekend. Win seemed a little preplexed by the swimming pool, but we sure had fun playing with him in it. It was a very sunny day, so we opted to cover up his fair skin with a t-shirt and this girly hat.

A Visit from Ohio

Win's Aunt Jessie (Jared's brother's wife), cousin Ezra and cousin Eden drove from Akron, Ohio for a visit with Win. Ezra, who is 4, is the oldest of the 7 Henderson cousins. Pictured is Eden holding Win. We had a great time playing around the house, going to the beach and going to church. Win is going to love playing with his cousins when he gets a little older.

Classic Henderson Male Pose, pt. 2

This time in the buff. I propose a contest: best Winfield thought-caption for this photo. Enter your submissions in the comment section below. The winner gets to have Win record the outgoing message on your answering machine. Anyone can comment by clicking on the numbered comments link below. All you need is a blogger account, which is free and takes just a minute to set up.

Dirty Laundry

Yesterday I gathered everything that was dirty, stinky and white and put them on the bed so that I could wash them. Here is my pile.

Win would like to say a few words:

Here's the little chump, chatting it up last Friday with Uncle Matt. Click on the little arrow on the lower left to make it play. The file is a little large, so you may have to wait a minute or two and stare at the large blue Q before it is ready to play.

Dedication

Yesterday, Mother's Day, Win was dedicated. Grandma and Grandpa Dean drove up from Fort Wayne for his dedication. Afterward we drove to Grand Rapids and celebrated Mother's Day with Aunt Johanna and Uncle Matt.

Talking

For those of you who haven't seen Win in a little while, one of his favorite new activities is talking. If you can get him to look straight into your eyes, just about anyone can get him to talk. 'Talking' consist of you making high-pitched cooing noises and him returning the favor. He will usually talk back and forth with you indefinately, or until something bright or shiny enters into his peripheral vision, then you've lost him. Here's a shot of Win chatting it up with his uncle Matt. I'll post some video of him talking sometime soon.

Up Close and Personal

Win is a super happy and smiley guy. He loves to smile when a new person enters his range of vision. This is his expression when he is contently studying something.

Tulip Time

Here's a shot of Winfield (from my phone, we loaned our biggy to a friend to shoot a wedding) from tonight before we rolled him downtown to experience a little bit of Tulip Time. Win really likes Tulip Time: lots of people, bright colors, music, dancing women, junk food, and female babies in strollers. We like Tulip Time too. Weather has been spectacular and the tulips are gorgeous this year. There are lots of fun things to do around town and everyone is in a good mood. We're looking forward to next Tulip Time when we can take the little chump to Kinderplaatz, which is like heaven on earth if you're a child under 9. They have a gazillion activities, games, skits, large inflatable jumping-aids, face-painting, exploring real fire trucks, etc, etc. We literally saw kids squealing with glee every few feet when we were down there this afternoon.

Looking Around

This is what Win does when we put him on his tummy, that is when he doesn't roll over first.

Cousin Luke

Win has a new cousin. Jared's sister Janna and her husband Nathan provided a playmate for Win. Luke was born on April 29 (two months younger than Win) and is in perfect health. Although he lives near Cincinnati the boys will be able to play together during summer vacation and over the holidays. Here is a picture of Win looking at Luke on the Internet.

Last night Win woke up at 4:00 AM screaming--very unusual. I went in to check on him and discovered that he had gotten out of his swaddle in a very interesting way. His arms were flailing, his feet were kicking and he looked pretty funny. I had to get the camera.
